In this multi-faceted exploration of implications of nuclear weapons, photographer Gary Schoichet provides portraits and narratives of Hiroshima survivors, as well as documentation of the 1982 Nuclear Freeze Rally and March in New York City. All Souls Church in Washington, D.C., contributes original 1947 crayon works by young survivors from the exhibit “Hiroshima Children’s Drawings.” Multimedia artist Marion Held has made commemorative masks (featured above) of Raku ceramic and dresses of organdy and paper. Background information both current and historical is presented on displays by Tamara Patton, Alexander Glaser, and Zia Mian of the Program on Science and Global Security at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
