Artificial intelligence is advancing faster than the institutions, workforces, and systems expected to absorb it. The challenge ahead is therefore not only one of technological innovation, but of deployment: how do we translate rapidly evolving capabilities into broad-based economic opportunity, institutional capacity, and public benefit?
This talk will explore the New Jersey AI Hub as an emerging model for tackling that challenge. A public-private initiative founded by Princeton University, the State of New Jersey, Microsoft, and CoreWeave, the Hub brings together universities, government, industry, startups, and communities to accelerate AI innovation and adoption. Liat Krawczyk will discuss the Hub’s work across entrepreneurship, workforce development, applied AI, and responsible governance—and the larger question underlying it: what new forms of collaboration and infrastructure are needed when technological change moves faster than any one institution can respond?
Bio:
Liat Krawczyk is the inaugural executive director of the New Jersey AI Hub, a public-private initiative launched by Princeton University, the State of New Jersey, Microsoft, and CoreWeave to advance AI innovation, adoption, and workforce development.
Previously, she served at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s CHIPS Program Office, where she led workforce strategy and child care efforts tied to the nation’s historic investment in semiconductor manufacturing. Earlier, she led innovation initiatives at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, including work spanning cybersecurity, emerging technology, and the care economy, and has built and advised organizations at the intersection of technology, economic development, and public policy.
Her work focuses on a central question of technological change: how institutions, industries, and communities can adapt quickly enough to turn innovation into broadly shared economic opportunity.
