Dollar Shocked: The International Monetary System from Nixon to Volcker

Max Harris is a Senior Fellow at the Wharton Future of Finance Initiative. Before joining Wharton, he worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury on international macroeconomic issues. His research focuses on international monetary history, and he is the author of Monetary War and Peace: London, Washington, Paris, and the Tripartite Agreement of 1936 (Cambridge University Press, 2021). He is currently writing a book on the international monetary system in the 1970s. His writings have been published in a variety of outlets, including the Times Literary Supplement and the Financial Times. He holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University.
