Please join us for a virtual, two-day symposium about corporate environment, social, and corporate governance (ESG) considerations and practices in the corporate, investment, and non-profit worlds. A single registration is needed for both days. You can opt to attend both days or just one.

Part II on March 24 will focus on the ESG issues from an investor perspective, including a discussion of the growing importance of non-financial factors in evaluating corporate performance, trends around reporting and disclosure on ESG factors, and debates about ESG metrics.

About the Panelists

Cecilia Chao

Ms. Chao joined Bain Capital in 2008. She is a Managing Director on the Bain Capital Double Impact team. Prior to her current role, she was a member of the Private Equity Portfolio Group.Prior to joining Bain Capital, Ms. Chao was a Vice President at Del Monte Foods. She led the Strategic Planning & Business Development group and held positions in Marketing. Prior to Del Monte, Ms. Chao was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she primarily focused on the CPG and financial sectors. Ms. Chao received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Yale University, where she double majored in chemical engineering and economics.

 

Ron Jarvis

Ron Jarvis is the Chief Sustainability Officer for The Home Depot. He is responsible for aligning the Company’s business strategies with its social, environmental and sustainability objectives. Ron also leads our SER factory audits, Utility Rebates, Product Safety departments, and he is the chairman of the Home Depot Environmental Council. Ron joined the Company in 1995 as a merchant. He has held positions of increasing responsibility including divisional merchandise manager, national product merchant, global product merchant, vice president of merchandising and senior vice president of pro and tool rental. Ron is a past Board member of The Home Depot Foundation, as well as an Outward Bound Board member and a past member of the Yale Forest Forum. Prior to joining the Company, Ron spent 11 years with Lowe’s in sales and merchandising. Ron has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from North Carolina State University. 

Scott Kalb

Scott Kalb is Founder and Director of the Responsible Asset Allocator Initiative at New America, helping the world’s largest institutions to invest responsibly and sustainably. The RAAI publishes the RAAI Index and Leaders List, rating and ranking the world’s 250 largest asset allocators on their responsible investing practices. Mr. Kalb also is Chairman of the Sovereign Investor Institute at Institutional Investor. Additionally, Mr. Kalb is CEO of KLTI Advisors, working with sovereign funds, pension funds and general partnerships on long-term investing. KLTI is a registered Representative of Bridge Capital Associates, Inc. During 2009-2012, Mr. Kalb served as CIO and Deputy CEO of the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), Korea’s US$200 billion Sovereign Wealth Fund, growing AUM from US$19 billion to US$60 billion during his tenure. Prior to KIC, Mr. Kalb worked in finance for 25 years, including at firms Balyasny, Black Arrow Capital, Tudor, and Citigroup. Mr Kalb is an elected member of the town of Greenwich Representative Town Meeting (RTM), representing District 7. He serves on the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Long-term Investing and on the Board of the Private Capital Research Institute, a Harvard based initiative. Mr Kalb received an MA degree from Harvard University and a BA with Honors from Oberlin College.
