Alison Pasquariello
Biography
Alison Pasquariello is the Associate Director of the Institutional Antiracism and Accountability (IARA) Project, working alongside IARA Director Professor Khalil Gibran Muhammad. Alison grows the project's community and content in strategic ways, while also ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
The Institutional Antiracism and Accountability (IARA) Project researches what works — and doesn’t work — to create antiracist change. The initiative addresses the intellectual and practical questions related to antiracism policy, practice, and institutional change. Their work builds on deep interdisciplinary expertise and engages a growing network of researchers and practitioners dedicated to advancing racial equity across sectors.
Working at the intersection of academia and practice, Alison approaches her work with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, antiracist praxis, and decolonial structures. She is grateful to work with organizations she believes in. She has worked with the IARA Project since 2023, both at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to joining the IARA Project, she brought impactful communications to life at justice-driven nonprofits, including What Design Can Do, Fossil Free Culture NL, and the National Network of Abortion Funds.
Alison holds a Research Master's from the University of Amsterdam’s Institute of Logic, Language, and Computation, where she published her thesis on time and its colonial applications past and present. She completed her Bachelor's in Mathematics and Philosophy at Boston University, where she was awarded the Karbank Fellowship in Philosophy.
Born and raised on Lenape land (colonial New Jersey), she now lives in Princeton. Outside of her role at IARA, you'll find Alison embroidering, playing piano, or building strategies for mutual aid.
