The Princeton School of Public and International Affairs announced four new members to the School advisory council. Congratulations to Rebecca Gong Sharp MPA/MBA ’15; Douglas Griffiths, MPP *00; Derek Kilmer, ’92; and Herro Mustafa Garg, MPA *97.

Rebecca Gong Sharp MPA/MBA ’15
Chief Executive Officer, IDinsight
Before rejoining IDinsight as CEO, Becca was a former COO and Partner, and one of the organization’s first Operations hires. She spent nearly six years leading IDinsight through a prolonged period of exponential growth. From 2022-2024, Becca served as a presidential appointee in the Peace Corps as the Regional Director for Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia, one of three regional leaders of the $430M US agency. In her executive role, she oversaw 19 country posts and nearly 800 staff. Becca’s former professional experience includes strategy consulting, evidence-based research, and on-the-ground social entrepreneurship in resource-constrained settings. She is also a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Becca holds a BA from Harvard University, an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and an MPA from the Princeton School of International and Public Affairs. Becca is based in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband, whom she met at SPIA, and their two young children.
Douglas Griffiths, MPP *00
President, Oak Foundation
Doug joined Oak Foundation in January 2019. In his role as President, he is thrilled to knit together his professional experiences advocating for human rights, humanitarian relief, social development, and environmental protection. Doug was a career diplomat, he held various roles including that of US Ambassador to Mozambique. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Notre Dame. Doug has lived in Canada, Ecuador, France, Germany, Haiti, Mozambique, Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States.
Derek Kilmer, ’92
Senior Vice President, U.S. Program and Policy, The Rockefeller Foundation
Derek Kilmer is Senior Vice President for U.S. Program and Policy at The Rockefeller Foundation, where he leads the Foundation’s new economic opportunity agenda — helping communities navigate economic and technological disruption, connect more people to good jobs, and change the systems that shape economic opportunity. He also leads the Foundation’s global and domestic policy teams, engaging leaders, civil society, businesses, and institutions to advance the Foundation’s mission.
Kilmer served six terms as a U.S. Representative from Washington State, where he focused on economic opportunity and helped pass landmark economic development legislation supporting distressed communities. He chaired the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress, which advanced more than 200 bipartisan recommendations to help Congress function more effectively amid institutional strain and declining public trust. Prior to Congress, Kilmer served in the Washington State Legislature and worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, as well as with a nonprofit focused on economic development. He earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a doctorate from the University of Oxford. He and his wife, Lauren, live in Washington, D.C.
Herro Mustafa Garg, MPA *97
Former U.S. Ambassador to Egypt and Bulgaria; Hollyhawk Global Advisory, Founder and Principal Ambassador
Herro Mustafa Garg is the Founder and Principal of Hollyhawk Global Advisory. Based in New Delhi, she provides strategic counsel to boards, institutional investors, and executives navigating complex markets across the Middle East, South/Central Asia, and Europe, transforming diplomatic precision into corporate advantage. A former senior U.S. diplomat with nearly three decades of experience at the intersection of geopolitics, security, and commerce, she recently served as U.S. Ambassador to Egypt and Bulgaria. Her career also includes leadership roles at the White House and National Security Council under bipartisan administrations. Additionally, she hosts the global podcast, “Negotiating the World.”
