Martin Gilens' book "Affluence & Influence: Economic Inequality and Political Power in America" (Princeton University Press 2012) received the 2016 Best Book Award by the American Association for Public Opinion Research. Presented annually, this award goes to the book of lasting value that is at least three years old. Gilens is professor of politics, a faculty affiliate at the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics and a faculty associate at the Woodrow Wilson School.
