Andrea Beadle

Originally from Whanganui, a small town in New Zealand, Andrea is a diplomat and foreign policy analyst with 14 years of experience in the New Zealand foreign service. During this time, she has worked in a number of roles, including on New Zealand's relations with Australia, Asia, Europe and Polynesia. She was posted to the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok from 2013-2016 where she covered trade and economic issues, as well as relations with Cambodia and Laos. From 2019-2021, she was posted to the New Zealand Mission to the EU and NATO in Brussels, where she covered political and security issues. She worked as Private Secretary (Foreign Affairs) to the Minister of Foreign Affairs under the Ardern Government. Her more recent roles have focused on trade policy, where she has worked on digital trade issues and overseen the ratification of the New Zealand-European Union Free Trade Agreement. Andrea has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations and French) from Victoria University of Wellington. Outside of work she enjoys reading, hiking, design and swimming in the ocean.
