Biography

Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Ariza witnessed the challenges to governance that make poverty and underdevelopment persist. Her commitment to social justice led her to commit to public service. Prior to Princeton, she served as Deputy Head of the Ateneo Policy Center, a university-based policy think tank tasked to advance evidence-based policymaking and institution-building, and promote transparency, accountability, and political participation. She also worked under the Vice President of the Philippines, where she managed a capacity building program for mayors and local government officials, and was a part of an anti-poverty program that works with local governments and communities for the improvement of people’s quality of life in some of the most far flung areas in the Philippines. She also has experience in nongovernment organizations focused on leadership and youth development in Sydney and Mexico City. Ariza completed her internship this summer with UNICEF in Pretoria, South Africa. She earned her B.S. in health sciences with a minor degree in development management (magna cum laude) from Ateneo de Manila University in 2015. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, surfing, and playing with her dogs.
