Amina Johari
Biography
Amina was born in Mombasa, Kenya. She spent the majority of her childhood split between Boston, Massachusetts, and rural Vermont. Amina received a B.A. from George Washington University, where she majored in international affairs. Following graduation, she accepted a position at the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute (FSI) where she worked alongside Foreign Service Officers in the Political Training Division. After almost two years at the State Department, she joined the Peace Corps as an English teacher in Tanzania in 2018. Having both personal ties and extensive experience in Africa, Amina has focused her career on the developing world. This summer, she interned with Abt Associates. She hopes to further explore issues related to policy and development around the globe, but particularly in Africa, while completing her MPA.
