Biography
Abby is an Ethiopian-American hailing from the South, with an interest in international relations and humanitarian assistance. She spent the year before starting the MPA program at a human rights NGO in Costa Rica. As part of the SINSI program, she began her SINSI fellowship in July 2018 at the State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs. Her second rotation, also at the State Department, was in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, followed by a stint with the U.S. Mission to the European Union in fall 2019. She then moved on to the U.S. Embassy in London in winter 2020, and finally completed her SINSI fellowship at the U.S. Consulate in Barcelona. Abby’s hobbies are travel, running, and reading. After graduation, she plans to pursue a law degree and work in the arena of international law, specifically as related to protections of minority or vulnerable groups.
