Biography

Artin was born and raised in New Jersey where she also received her undergraduate degree in political science from Rutgers University. During her time at Rutgers, she was an undergraduate associate at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, where she explored state and national politics through research, education and public service, linking the study of politics with its day-to-day practice. After graduation, she spent three years working as an adviser to United States Senator Bob Menendez, where she provided strategic direction to New Jersey’s senior senator and managed a portfolio with a focus on health care, women’s rights and education. She also sits on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA), the state’s only statewide organization working to create a culture that addresses the impact and prevalence of sexual violence. She returned to the Office of Senator Robert Menendez this past summer to complete her MPA internship. Artin is a second-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, enjoys running (half) marathons and is an avid traveler. After graduating from the Woodrow Wilson School, Artin hopes to continue working at the federal level with the goal of improving access and affordability of health services to low-income women.
