Brent Efron
Biography
Originally from Boston, Brent earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018. Outside of coursework, he conducted research in two mechanical engineering labs and served on the national board of J Street U, a progressive student organization. After graduation, Brent worked as an organizer on two Democratic campaigns, first for Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin in 2018 and then for Senator Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign in Iowa. More recently, he worked on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign in North Carolina as deputy data director and then joined the Biden-Harris administration in early 2021 as Special Assistant to the Associate Administrator for Policy at the U.S. EPA. Through these experiences, he has seen first-hand how essential politics and policy-making are to making change. After receiving an MPA from SPIA, Brent hopes to advance climate adaptation efforts in communities facing disproportionate impacts from the climate crisis.
