Christopher Bernedo
Biography
Chris was born to Peruvian immigrants in Miami, Florida, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He moved to California to study international relations at Stanford University, where he developed his interests in urban inequality, global migration, and worker’s rights. After graduating, Chris stayed in the Bay Area to work with labor unions and support progressive politics. He later became a performance auditor for the City of San José, bringing his passion for equity and accountability to the evaluation of government services. The summer before coming to Princeton, Chris split his time between auditing and the city’s COVID-19 response, forecasting supply needs for personal protective equipment. This past summer, he interned with the California Legislative Analyst’s Office. After Princeton, Chris hopes to work on policies promoting inclusive economic and urban development. Chris enjoys learning languages, playing guitar, and studying martial arts.
