Biography

Cydney is an organizer, native Detroiter, and alumna of the University of Michigan where she obtained her B.A., with honors, in public policy. Cydney has held several notable internships and fellowships, including two summers on Capitol Hill in the offices of Brenda Lawrence (MI-14) and Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), another at the Detroit Justice Center - a radical nonprofit law firm that provides free legal support for Detroiters in need, and a year-long fellowship with poverty research center, Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan. She spent time in Costa Rica, Senegal, and France studying abroad and for service projects and is proficient in Spanish. Cydney is a 2022 Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellow and plans to enter the U.S. Foreign Service upon graduation. Her policy interests are in urban development, climate and environmental sustainability, global poverty, and human rights. Cydney will be attending SPIA to obtain an MPA (Field III) and a certificate in urban policy.
