Biography

Christian was born and raised in South Alabama, and growing up spent much of his time in and around the Gulf of Mexico. In 2018, he graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in English. Soon after, he joined the U.S. Peace Corps and moved to rural Tanzania, where he spent the subsequent two years teaching mathematics (his minor field of study) and implementing a range of projects in the community alongside his Tanzanian counterparts. In March of 2020, Christian was among the group of volunteers evacuated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon his return to the States, he quickly transitioned to a position with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, implementing the country's environmental policies in the mid-Atlantic region. Christian has also volunteered for a number of political campaigns - one in his home state, and another in his adopted Pennsylvania. At Princeton, Christian seeks to combine his upbringing and professional/volunteer experience to explore how rural American communities can better adapt to the increasing threat of climate change and its socioeconomic consequences.
