Biography

Claribel is a born and raised New Yorker. Prior to Princeton, she worked at the Ford Foundation as a program associate on their Civic Engagement and Government team. She was responsible for analyzing the program’s $23M grant portfolio dedicated to close the civic participation gap among historically marginalized communities. Her analysis helped inform the team's learning and refinement of the portfolio's strategic goals and outcomes. Additionally, she also led the program’s $1.5M investments in disability inclusion and healing justice. Claribel has contributed relentless ingenuity and intentionality around how the program can collaborate and support partners beyond the portfolio's grantmaking. She has worked on criminal justice, healthcare, and education issues in a variety of roles ranging from direct service delivery, advocacy, and philanthropy. In each of her roles she brings her lived experiences and intersectional approach to work with various stakeholders to advocate and empower communities of color. This past summer, Claribel completed her MPA internship with the Kolibri Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys eating delicious meals and spending time with her loved ones. Claribel has a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and English language arts from Hunter College.
