Hope Jackson
Biography
Hope is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and attended the University of South Carolina majoring in international business and global supply chain and operations management. Since graduating, she’s worked as a business analyst, and in project management, purchasing and contract negotiations. In 2015, she traveled to Kelantan, Malaysia, as a Fulbright English teaching assistant where her classes and camps highlighted the arts, female empowerment, and the effects of racial and socioeconomic barriers. A member of Alpha Phi Omega and Delta Sigma Theta, Hope has always been committed to public service. After spending time post-graduation working at a predominantly African-American school, she wanted to further understand the role of education and economic status in individual and communal achievement. Hope aspires to unite her business and personal experience in ways that will close the achievement gap and create more opportunities for all Americans. In pursuit of this goal, this summer Hope worked as a summer associate for the Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL) whose mission is to enhance the education sector’s capacity to improve the outcomes and life chances of all children. Hope volunteers at local theatres and digs poetry, symphonies, travel and action movies.
