Biography
Iona comes to Princeton from Canberra, Australia, where she spent four years as a Southeast Asia adviser in the Prime Minister’s Department. She grew up in sunny Sydney, and graduated from the University of Sydney with a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in economics, Indonesian studies and international business. Iona is passionate about strengthening Australia’s relationship with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Pacific, particularly through closer economic links. Iona has supported the Prime Minister’s participation in major events like the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Sydney and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in Papua New Guinea. Outside work, she has volunteered as an electoral observer in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, and is involved in various Australia-Indonesia youth initiatives. Iona completed her summer internship with The World Bank. She loves skiing, brunching, and bushwalking in her spare time.
