Isabela Salgado Silva Pereira

Isabela (she/they) grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she completed her bachelor's degree in economics. After graduating, Isabela worked as a junior analyst at the Climate Policy Initiative, contributing to the development of impact evaluations on the sustainable use of energy resources in Brazil. Driven by her passion for evidence-based policymaking, Isabela moved to Boston in 2018 to work with J-PAL's Policy and Communications group. In this role, they supported J-PAL's evidence synthesis and dissemination efforts with a focus on gender-based violence. After SPIA, she aims to work towards designing effective programs that prevent violence and promote gender equality across the world. When not working or studying, Isabela likes reading, doing pottery, and taking care of their plants.
