Biography

Joanna C. Anyanwu, Princeton '15, MPA/J.D. '21, is a SPIA graduate with certificates in gender and sexuality studies as well as African studies. Joanna is also a 2015 Tom A. and Andrea E. Bernstein ’80 Princeton SINSI (Scholars in the Nation’s Service) Scholar. Joanna worked as a SINSI intern at the African Development Foundation during the summer of 2014. Following graduation, she began her SINSI fellowship in the policy and strategy section of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice. She continued her fellowship at the State Department’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations where she worked with CSO’s Africa team. Joanna is currently pursuing a joint MPA/J.D. with Harvard Law School and Princeton’s SPIA. She was a summer associate at Public International Law and Policy Group during the summer of 2019 and was a summer law clerk at White & Case LLP during the summer of 2020. Joanna will be in residence for the fall semester only.
