Jeffrey Valdez

Born and raised in Manila, Jeff is joining the WWS community after a six-year stint at the Philippine Embassy in Moscow where he was responsible for bilateral economic relations. He has been a career foreign service officer since 2010 and has served in various capacities in the home office including, most recently, as assistant director for the Central Europe and Russia Divisions at the Office of European Affairs. He hopes to expand his understanding of asymmetrical bilateral relationships as well as data-driven policymaking in political and economic cooperation. Jeff loves basketball, boxing and table tennis. He also enjoys losing arguments with his wife who is a more accomplished diplomat.
