Johana has spent the majority of the last eight years living in Washington, D.C. As an undergraduate at American University, she earned a degree in international studies with a concentration in the global economy and international development. Most recently, she was an associate manager at an international development nonprofit implementing USAID and USDA-funded programs. During her almost five-year tenure, Johana provided project management support to programs in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She also collaborated on gender and social inclusion initiatives, including a program providing technical assistance on women’s empowerment to USAID, Missions, and implementing partners.
