Biography

Born and raised in New Jersey, Kim majored in economics and minored in mathematics and English at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with high honors in economics. She began her career in economics and public policy as a research assistant in the Federal Reserve Board’s Division of Consumer and Community Affairs. She then transitioned to a role as a data scientist within the Division of Consumer and Community Affairs where she has been working since. During her time at the Federal Reserve, she combined research and policy with data science techniques to inform the Board of conditions facing low- and moderate-income communities. At SPIA, she hopes to learn more about different policy issues around technology, credit access, and labor markets as well as continue to develop a strong quantitative toolkit. After Princeton, she hopes to pursue a career combining policy and data science.
