Biography

Kyle is a 2008 graduate of the College of William & Mary where he earned his undergraduate degree in government with a minor in management. After graduating, Kyle worked as a Legislative Staffer for a United States Senator prior to commissioning in the United States Coast Guard in 2011. With over nine years of sea time conducting operations in the Arabian Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Eastern Pacific Ocean, he most recently completed a tour as the Commanding Officer of a 154′ Fast Response Cutter homeported in Key West, Florida, where he led a 25 person crew in the execution of all missions, including search and rescue, international engagement, humanitarian assistance, as well as maritime interdiction and counter-narcotic operations. Kyle joins the SPIA community as the 2022 Coast Guard Fellow, and upon graduation will return to Washington, D.C. to support the formulation and implementation of service-wide policies and programs. In his free time, Kyle enjoys boating, fishing, and all activities on or around the water.
