Biography

Leah is a fifth-generation Californian, raised in the Central Valley. Leah has spent the past two years building a major new initiative at Stanford University, Stanford Impact Labs, with the goal of connecting research in the social sciences with people working on the front lines of solving social problems. Prior to that, Leah spent eight years in East Africa, working first as a Global Health Corps Fellow in Burundi for Population Services International, and then as the deputy country director for One Acre Fund Rwanda scaling agricultural programming to more than 265,000 smallholder farmers. Transitioning back from East Africa to California, she worked on the 2018 midterm elections, flipping CA-10 from red to blue. Leah earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics with high honors from Lewis & Clark College. When not working, Leah is learning to play the banjo (occasionally with her partner accompanying on clarinet), or exploring new parks.
