Biography

Laura received her bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University where she majored in public policy and minored in economics. She launched her career in the private sector, first as a strategy consultant at Deloitte and then as a process adviser at CVS Health, seeking analytical skills and organizational strategies she could translate to a long-term career in public service. She comes to SPIA after three years working at A Better Chicago, a nonprofit venture philanthropy focused on dramatically expanding opportunity for Black and Latinx youth. There, she led the organization’s data and evaluation related efforts across due diligence, grantee support, and thought-leadership. This summer, she worked as a graduate consulting intern with The Bridgespan Group. Laura is passionate about racial equity and economic mobility. Upon completing her MPA, she plans to work in municipal urban development and is eager to explore the potential of public-private-philanthropic partnerships in reversing systemic disinvestment. Originally from just outside of Philadelphia, Laura is looking forward to a return to milder winters, spending more time with her mom in the kitchen, The Broad Street Run, and Eagles games.
