Mikaylah Ladue

Born in Belgium and currently residing in Levittown, Pennsylvania, Mikaylah attended Princeton University for her undergraduate career, where she earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology, with a legal, political, and economic specialization, as well as certificates in Latin American studies and gender and sexuality studies. Through her department and as a two-time fellow with the Gender in the Global Community project through the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination, she was able to focus her research on drug-related violence and sexual violence. In summer 2018, Mikaylah began working as a legal assistant for a criminal defense attorney in Princeton, working on cases pertaining to drug abuse, child abuse, and sexual violence. In summer 2019, she was a counseling intern with the Women's Law Project in Philadelphia, where she provided legal information and referrals to area women. Mikaylah is a SINSI scholar and, after completing her first year of MPA studies, she worked at the United States Institute of Peace on the Gender Policy and Strategy Team in the Policy, Learning and Strategy Center. Her second SINSI rotation was at the State Department in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Mikaylah plans to pursue a joint law degree with the intent of focusing her career on the mitigation of the violent consequences of drug use, abuse, and trafficking.
