Mizuki joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in 2016. She served in several posts including policy planning on digital, climate change, business and human rights, and international economy. She hosted the G20 Digital Ministers` Meeting in 2019 and took part in preparing for the G7 Summit in 2023. Prior to joining the government, Mizuki worked for an IT company where she witnessed digital technology being applied to society. Mizuki grew up in Japan. She spent six years as a child in the United States which had a profound effect on her values. Mizuki graduated from the University of Tokyo with a bachelor`s degree in law in 2012.
