Biography

Rachael is a third-generation Iowan with a passion for serving her state. Most recently, she served as the Resident Scholar for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, an independent federal agency. Before working for the Truman Foundation, Rachael was appointed as a regent for the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. Through serving on the Board of Regents, Rachael came to appreciate higher education and the many multi-faceted issues affecting institutions of higher education across the nation. In addition to serving on the Board of Regents, she was appointed as a commissioner for the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service and the Iowa College Student Aid Commission. She worked this summer as a Community Impact & Engagement intern with Ho-Chunk, Inc. Rachael enjoys getting to know new people, BIG10 football, and spending time with her family. After completing her studies, Rachael hopes to return to Iowa and contribute to the advancement of public higher education across the state.
