Biography
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Robi attended Davidson College and graduated in 2020 with a degree in economics and a minor in educational studies. After graduation, Robi completed the Work First fellowship in New York City. Through her work, she was able to support low-income residents in gaining relevant employment skills and their high school equivalency diplomas. In addition, she conducted research on unemployed mothers and the pandemic’s impact on their attitudes toward work. After the fellowship, Robi worked as an income building specialist at a family shelter, connecting homeless mothers to employment and educational opportunities. Working with mothers during the pandemic, she witnessed firsthand how the lack of affordable childcare options is a major barrier for mothers in the workforce. In her free time, Robi enjoys taking public transportation, going for long walks, reading, watching reality tv, and spending time with her dogs.
