Biography

A product of the landscape of Los Angeles, Rain often finds himself wondering about two things: first, how to design public systems, especially for education, and second, what the weather is like at home. Rain graduated from Yale University in 2016 with a degree in the earth sciences and moved to San Antonio to teach high school science as a Teach For America corps member. After two years of teaching followed by a short period of traveling, he eventually returned to the States to learn about the outdoor education space through several summer camps. He then began work at LIFT, a national nonprofit assisting parents in their pursuit of economic mobility, where he supported and eventually led internal learning and evaluation efforts. This summer, he interned with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). After hours, Rain can be found making music, immersing himself in the outdoors, or learning something new.
