Tom grew up in Adelaide, Australia, but moved to Abu Dhabi to study at New York University Abu Dhabi. He majored in social research and public policy, and minored in history. He has lived in Melbourne since graduation and has worked across state government. Most recently, he worked at the Department of Health and Human Services in social housing policy. Tom interned this summer with Solar Citizens, an independent, community-based organization working to protect and grow renewable energy in Australia. Tom really likes cities, action on climate change, almost all varieties of bread, pop music, and tennis.
