Biography
Tracy is originally from Emmett, a village in rural Michigan. She studied economics and English at Michigan State University. Upon graduation, Tracy taught high school mathematics as a Teach for America corps member. After teaching for three years in Detroit, she moved to Chicago, where she served as a Teach for America staff member and volunteer college access mentor. This past summer, she returned to Detroit to complete her MPA internship, working as a research associate with the Diploma Equity Project. Tracy intends to build a career in educational policy and is passionate about efforts to equalize school funding, invest in post-secondary readiness programs, and otherwise extend opportunity to children in under-resourced urban and rural communities. Tracy enjoys cooking, traveling, and reading fiction.
