Andre Vasilyev
Biography
Andre comes from a Russian family, was born in Ireland, and grew up in Los Angeles. He speaks English, Russian, and Spanish. Andre attended Stanford University as an undergraduate, where he studied economics and international relations. After graduating in 2016, Andre worked as a management consultant at EY-Parthenon, and then as a senior analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. As part of the Bank’s Applied Critical Thinking function, Andre helped design engagements with senior staff aimed at mitigating the effects of cognitive biases on policymaking. This past summer, he worked as a Mayoral Fellow with the City of Chicago, Office of the Mayor. Andre is also passionate about LGBTQ advocacy and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives more broadly. He is excited to be part of the Princeton SPIA community, and plans to continue pursuing a career in economic policymaking upon graduation. In his free time, Andre enjoys training in boxing and playing in New York’s Gay Flag Football League.
