Biography

Denisse was born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador. She majored in economics at the University of Central America José Simeón Cañas, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2017 and was the valedictorian of her class. Prior to Princeton, she worked for the Ministry of Economics of El Salvador as an economic analyst where she gave technical support and evidence for policies and programs set in the public agenda. She also participated in creating youth development programs, and collaborated in programs regarding sector development, intellectual property, commerce and investment attraction, among others. Denisse also worked as a teaching lecturer and thesis advisor for undergraduate courses at her university, and in 2021 she was awarded a Fulbright-Laspau scholarship to pursue her master's degree. In her free time, Denisse loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, sing, and learn languages; she currently speaks Spanish, English, French, and some German, and is seeking to learn Italian and Portuguese in the next few years.
