Dr. Priya Joshi will present- Learning from different perspectives: How education matters for sustainable development, and the role of private actors in the mix.

Dr. Priya Joshi, MPA '05, is a Senior Analyst with the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report team, the independent global monitoring mechanism for measuring global education progress under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda, based in UNESCO (Paris). In both the GEM Report team and in her personal research profile, her principal areas of focus include interrogating the role of private and other non-state actors in education and broadening the discussion around education’s role in achieving sustainable development.
She holds a PhD in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. She has previously held research positions at the International Monetary Fund, and worked in consulting capacities at UNICEF and the World Bank.
