He achieved the highest rank in the Foreign Service, career ambassador, and is only the second serving career diplomat in history to become deputy secretary of state. As one of our nation's most respected diplomats, Ambassador Burns will share his perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for US Foreign Policy during a time of unprecedented turbulence.
