Bloomberg Names “Democracy for Realists” One of the Best Books of 2016
A book written by Christopher Achen and Larry Bartels was named one of Bloomberg's Best Books of 2016.Published by Princeton University Press, “Democracy for Realists: Why Elections Do Not Produce Responsive Government,” reveals how voters typically choose parties and candidates based on social and partisan ideals — not political issues. The authors argue that democratic theory should be rooted in identity groups and political parties instead of being based on individual voter preferences.Christopher H. Christensen’s “The China Challenge” Receives 2016 Arthur Ross Book Award Silver Medal
A book by Thomas J. Christensen, William P. Two Wilson School Alumni Assume New Leadership Roles
Two MPA graduates of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, who also are administrators at the School, are transitioning to new phases of their careers.Gilbert Collins MPA ’99, who has served as the director of graduate student life at the Wilson School since February 2014, will begin a new role at the School’s Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW) on Nov. 21.
