Hampton Joins Wilson School as Director of Graduate Career Services and Alumni Relations
Barbara Hampton, a seasoned career services professional, joins Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs as director of graduate career services and alumni relations on Aug. 15.“We are thrilled that Barbara will be joining the Woodrow Wilson School,” Dean Cecilia Rouse said. “I am confident that, given her impressive background – having advised hundreds of students at the University of Virginia – we will have a relatively seamless transition for the School’s Graduate Career Services office. Wilson School Faculty Member Elected to American Philosophical Society
Three Princeton University faculty members and three University alumni were among 33 new members recently elected to the American Philosophical Society (APS), the nation's oldest scholarly organization.Sara McLanahan, who holds a joint appointment at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Department of Sociology, was elected to APS’ social sciences class.McLanahan, the William S. Lee Receives 2016 Helen Dwight Reid Award
Melissa Lee, assistant professor of politics and international affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, has received the American Political Science Association’s (APSA) 2016 Helen Dwight Reid Award.This prize is awarded annually for the best dissertation successfully defended during the previous two years in the field of international relations, law and politics. Lee — whose research and teaching interests bridge the subfields of international relations and comparative politics — will receive her award at the APSA Annual Meeting this fall in Philadelphia.

Deaton Becomes Knight Bachelor
Angus Deaton has been named a Knight Bachelor “for his services to research in economics and international affairs.” The honor entitles him to be known as Sir Angus, or Sir Angus Deaton, and was announced as part of the Queen’s official birthday honours list.Deaton, Dwight D.
