Since 1985, the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs has hosted the Junior Summer Institute (JSI) as part of its proud tradition of promoting diversity at Princeton University and in the public service arena. Pa. Officials Underestimate Constituents’ Support for Solar, Other Clean Energy Projects
Local elected officials surveyed in Pennsylvania underestimate their constituents’ support for solar and other clean energy projects, according to research published August 1 in Nature Energy.In their findings, based on survey responses from 894 Pennsylvanians and 206 policymakers from township, municipality, and county governments, the Princeton-led research team uncovered bipartisan support among Pennsylvanians for solar energy and other types of renewables when compared to a reference case of natural gas with carbon capture and storage. Fieldwork in Botswana Shapes Students' Global Policy Perspectives
During a trip to Botswana last spring, a group of juniors from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs studying social protection policies in Southern Africa came face to face with a frustrated local farmer named Mma Mogaetsho. Although she had cultivated her family’s fields for decades, Mogaetsho had recently struggled with local wildlife — primarily elephants — trampling her crops, which threatened not only her livelihood but also her family’s means of subsistence.The night before the meeting, those same havoc-wreaking elephants had wowed the students while refreshing themselves at a nearby watering hole. The Journal of Public and International Affairs recently published its 35th edition, featuring nine articles related to U.S. domestic policy, international relations, international development, and economic policy.JPIA is a student-run, peer-reviewed journal co-published by the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs.
