Press Statement Regarding Korean Version of "The Great Escape: Health, Wealth, and the Origins of Inequality"
Princeton University Press was recently made aware that the Korean edition of Angus Deaton’s book, "The Great Escape: Health, Wealth, and the Origins of Inequality," was published with changes that do not accurately reflect the original work. This edition, published by Hankyung BP, contained changes and omissions from the English text; and also included an introduction to the work by a Korean economist, explicitly positioning the book as a counterpoint to Piketty’s "Capital in the Twenty-First Century."
