Distinguished Alumnus Frederick Bohen MPA ’64 Dies
Frederick Bohen MPA '64, a distinguished alumnus, passed away March 15, 2015. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard College, Bohen served in the U.S. Navy, later entering the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs to concentrate in economics and public policy. Upon graduating with the first class at Robertson Hall, he served for two years as the Wilson School’s first assistant dean.Amidst membership on the School’s advisory council and serving as class agent for the MPA ’64 alumni, he led a life in public and charitable service and education. Tienda Elected to National Academy of Education
Marta Tienda, the Maurice P. During Professor of Demographic Studies and professor of sociology and public affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, has been elected to the National Academy of Education for her outstanding scholarship related to education. Also the director of the Program in Latino Studies, Tienda has focused her research on the demography of racial and ethnic inequality, social policy and international migration. Grossman Receives Onassis Prize for International Trade
Gene Grossman, the Jacob Viner Professor of International Economics and professor of economics and international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, has received the Onassis Prize in recognition of his contributions to strategic trade policy, environmental economics and the economics of offshoring. Grossman’s most recent research focuses on the effects of trade on wage distribution. His most prominent work has been on the determinants of international competitiveness in dynamic, research-intensive industries. A prolific writer, he has co-authored three books and penned dozens of papers on international trade. The …

Itskhoki Named a 2015 Sloan Research Fellow
Oleg Itskhoki, assistant professor of economics at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, was one of five Princeton University faculty members named a 2015 Sloan Research Fellow for promising early-career research in science. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation awards the two-year $50,000 fellowships to 126 scientists and scholars annually. Nominations are made by senior colleagues based on outstanding performance and the nominee's potential to impact their field. Mauzerall Named Member of EPA’s Science Advisory Board
Denise Mauzerall, professor of environmental engineering and international affairs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, was named a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board. Her appointment is effective through Sept. 30, 2017.As part of the advisory board, Mauzerall will provide advice on technical issues underlying the EPA’s policies and decision-making.
