Writing Internship: Summer 2020

The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs is seeking an intern for its Office of Communications and Public Affairs. The intern will serve as an editorial assistant for the School’s annual report and will be responsible for writing news and feature articles, award briefs and social media posts for non-technical audiences, and assisting with outreach strategies. Some administrative duties and web-related tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the production of the School’s annual report, including gathering faculty awards, books and other data.
  • Writing feature stories and award briefs for the School’s website.
  • Producing content for social media channels, including assisting with the #WooWho Instagram series, featuring the stories of faculty, students and staff.
  • Assisting with the production of “Politics & Polls,” our weekly podcast.
  • Assisting with reorganizing lists for our e-newsletter.

Requirements

Applicants must have strong writing and social media skills and the ability to write for a non-technical audience. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, meeting regular deadlines and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Applicants must be university/college students. 

Opportunity Details

Dates: June through August 2020 (exact dates are flexible)

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

Location: Princeton, New Jersey (This is an on-site, in-person internship)

Compensation: This is a paid internship.
