
Bashir Mobasher
Biography
Dr. Bashir Mobasher is a researcher, an activist, and a teacher. He is an expert in constitutional law and Identity politics, with a research portfolio that spans critical areas of comparative constitutional performance, electoral systems, and accommodation of identity groups. He is interested in understanding the intersection of law, politics, and identity, and contributing to the discourse on governance and political inclusion.
In addition to his research, Dr. Mobasher brings his expertise into the classroom, teaching courses on constitutions, societies and identity politics at prestigious institutions such as American University, New York University, and the American University of Afghanistan.
Dr. Mobasher currently serves as the President of the Afghanistan Law and Political Science Association (in Exile), where he leads online education for Afghan women and the efforts to promote research, publications and scholarly collaborations focused on Afghanistan's unique challenges and opportunities.
He holds a B.A. from the School of Law and Political Science at Kabul University (2007) and earned his Master's degree (2010) and Ph.D. (2017) from the University of Washington School of Law. His academic journey and professional achievements underscore his deep commitment to advancing knowledge in constitutional law and identity politics on a global scale.
