Covid-19 is Exposing Inequalities in Health and Wealth, Deaton Testifies
The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is exposing and exacerbating health disparities in America, with Black and brown communities hit especially hard. This was the theme of a Congressional hearing held June 23 by the House Budget Committee. Among the witnesses was Sir Angus Deaton, Dwight D. Dear Community, I hope you have had to a chance to read President Eisgruber’s message, sharing with the Princeton community that the University Trustees have voted to remove the name “Woodrow Wilson” from our School and rename it the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. I am writing to let you know I unequivocally support this decision. Retiring the name does not take the place of systemic change, but it does signal that we are prepared to do the hard work of confronting racism and other injustices. Virtual Ceremony Honors 108 Woodrow Wilson School Graduating Seniors
Seniors and their families convened May 29 to view an event unique in the Woodrow Wilson School’s history — “our first ever, and hopefully last, virtual Class Day awards ceremony,” said Paul Lipton, associate dean for undergraduate education.Conducted via Zoom — now a familiar platform to Princeton students from attending virtual classes this spring — the event honored 106 graduating seniors as well as two students who earned their bachelor’s degrees in January 2020. Scheppele Named Winner of Service Award by Law and Society Association
Professor Kim Lane Scheppele was named the winner of the Ronald Pipkin Service Award from the Law and Society Association (LSA), where she served as president from 2017 to 2019.
