How many current Master in Public Policy (MPP) students can you spot amongst Seward Johnson’s Were You Invited?—which was inspired by French Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s The Luncheon of the Boating Party. This sculpture resides at the Grounds for Sculpture, where our MPP students recently enjoyed an outing and happy hour after their second week of programming.

Just like the painting that inspired this sculpture—which captures the welcoming nature of the restaurant, and underscores the variety of its customer base—here too, you’ll share coffee, meals and great conversation with your diverse and widely-accomplished cohort. You will also enjoy engaging with and benefit from the larger Princeton School of Public and International Affairs community. You are all invited!

MPP students are required to participate in a seven-week summer program that precedes the academic year. The MPP Summer Program includes coursework in economics, statistics, leadership, and policy analysis. It is designed to enhance the preparation for graduate-level coursework.

During the academic year, MPP students must successfully complete eight courses within a program of study approved by their faculty adviser and/or the faculty chair of the MPP program. To this end, the MPP program provides rigorous training in quantitative and policy analysis, preparing degree candidates to return to their careers with the intellectual breadth, organizational skills and confidence necessary to assume leadership positions in an increasingly complex public service environment.
