Lachlyn Soper is a Senior Conflict Advisor at AFRICOM from the State Department's Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations. In the Foreign Service, Lachlyn has served in Yemen, South Korea, and the Philippines. Prior to joining the State Department, she worked as a cultural advisor for the U.S. Army in Baghdad and as a representative for the United Nations in the West Bank and Syria. Lachlyn holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and a MPA from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. She is an alumna of the Liechtenstein Institute’s PORDIR fellowship. She speaks Arabic, Japanese, Indonesian, Tagalog, and French.
