Judith Glassgold, Associate Executive Director and Director of Government Relations for Public Interest, American Psychological Association

Judith M. Glassgold is a visiting research scholar at the Woodrow Wilson School's Center for Health and Wellbeing. Her primary interests lie in mental health and health care delivery, particularly among socially marginalized and economically disadvantaged populations. Throughout her career she has combined advocacy, scholarship, clinical services and teaching. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who transitioned from clinical services, scholarship, and training to the policy sphere. Her recent work at the American Psychological Association translated science into social policy to reduce health disparities. In this position, she has been involved in mental health reform efforts in recent years through advocacy in the 113th and 114th Congress  and working closely with the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. She also served in Congress as a Senior Health Policy Advisor and at the Congressional Research Service as a Specialist in Health. In a parallel line of work, she is a national expert in the psychology of sexual orientation and gender identity and has published articles on affirmative psychotherapy and contributed to landmark reports and legislation.  Glassgold received an A.B. from Harvard University in Government and a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from Rutgers University.

Lunch will be served.
