• Strategies for getting past gatekeepers
• How to get honest answers to difficult questions
• Techniques for building rapport, drawing out critical details, and dealing with reluctant or hostile informants
• Common mistakes to avoid before and during an interview
• Protecting your notes and audio recordings from theft or seizure
• Working with interpreters
